getting to Singapore — Patt's cab driver-

Buying tickets to get to Singapore was a bit more difficult than expected and required a trip to the airport from Charles and Linda's so Patt took cab to the airport and upon purchase from Malaysian Air of two tickets on Silk Air (their low cost partner) she had lunch at the airport and took the next cab in the que home. It was somewhat raggedy (for a cab here - normally cabs are quite nice) Patt and driver became fast friends.  Seems as Ishak had a Peace Corps teacher in 1965-66 named Christy B…. ( consistent with not using last names in this blog) when he was in the 4th and 5th grades.

To cut to the chase, he wanted to take us to the airport the next day, so he did. As is my preference, we leave early, with time to spare. So as we approached the airport, Ishak, who by now had discussed religion, changes in society, family, of course traffic, his family - our family — anyway, Ishak realized we had a few minutes to spare and asked if we had eaten breakfast. Well, upon Patt replying that we were planning on getting something at the airport, Ishak invited us to stop by his home just five minutes from the airport for breakfast.

We did— Patt and Ishak

Ishak's family, one son in school studying engineering, daughter executive for telecommunications firm, and older son an architect.

Isaac, as he is also known, also has a boat, catches shrimp and has a restaurant nest to his house.

This is what we had — yes it was good.  Isaac explained while we were eating that Chinese people really like shrimp.

We liked Ishak.
one of the characters we have met in our travels
and we have met some.
