settling into Medellin

The address is in Bario San Lucas up on a mountain side in Medellin.  The altitude of this location is about 6100 feet.  A fact we noticed.  The fact that there are steps in the three story condo we have also noticed.  Below is Jen in front of their place.  It is at the top of a long drive surrounded on both sides of like looking condos.  Bottom window is kids bedroom, middle window is living room, and upper window is a office loft.  On the lower level to the right are the bathrooms, and two more bedrooms, - baths to the front.  Middle level is open and dinning area to the back of living area and kitchen to the right as well as maids quarters,  and the upper is just the loft.

We got here and just beds, kitchen table and chairs,  a refrigerator that would not cool, washing machine that would not spin, and some basic household tools were here.  Tools like dishes in boxes, fans to be put together and such.

The couch came a day or so ago and the kids have figured out playing with the cushions already.

The rest of the space in the living room is still "open" and makes for good ball playing area on a rainy afternoon.  It is a rainy season.

Clinton's joy in this photo was too much not to include.  His errant throw notwithstanding.  Blue = Clinton, Green = Raleigh, a color code strictly enforced by the boys.

These "protruding" windows have a large area for sitting, or standing in Clinton's case and are really nice.  This is a view into the backyard fence.  Yes it is green and yes the backyard is small.  The front window looks down the "street" drive of the condo neighborhood.

Clinton is so sweet in the morning with his pacifier and sleeping toys.  Alberto. the elephant and Brown Bear, the bear.   Generally, our daughter-in-law names her children's sleepy toys like we name cars.

Raleigh's cars and building blocks also made it to Medellin.

Our days are full, the nights come early - as does morning, but boy-oh boy the days are full.  Having a lot of fun with the kids of both generations on this adventure, and we are getting settled in and a good routine established.  And nearby we have also found an excellent restaurant with most reasonable prices.  Columbian cooking and appears to be top flight.

More photos and blogs to follow.  I have found a nearby internet cafe.  Internet still not in the condo and new refrigerator purchased but not delivered until next week.
