Yesterday Patt and I were child care workers. We took care of Grandson Raleigh as Jen and Stephen had stuff to do - that's good— and we were available — good. So off we went back to our apartment. And We think he looks like he belongs to us too.
On the agenda was time in the roof top pool, actual swimming is not yet what we do, cars, pouring water and being cute are more our water activities for now. Well perhaps the cute part is not my specialty.
After lunch we played ball in our living room, more cars and by now the Granddad is looking for Grandmama for some help.
and more cars and trucks too. Santa came early to 1903 BayFront Towers this year I can tell you that. Also note the view out the window. Patt and I do have quite the view. That is the Punta Pacifica region of the city over Patt's right shoulder.
And for reference looking the other way is Casco Viejo. I need a better picture of this view. It really is quite striking at night too.
Patt was reading to Raleigh and he noticed that I was about to nod off, or rather had drifted into my afternoon rest time. Well guess who is having none of that? Gets down from Patt's lap starts talking to Patt about me sleeping and climbs up on top of me with cars, coasters ( yes coasters for putting you drinking glass on )( apparently they are fun to hold) and a ball point pen (sorry about that Jen).
Then he talks to me to make sure I am no longer sleeping. I was not. He sat there for a good while- I think he did not trust me to stay awake.
When Raleigh's nap time came we took him home and put him in his own bed — (Patt and I are no dummies.) Then later that evening Stephen and Jen's stuff to do included going out to dinner so we continued our child care with more reading — this time the classic Little Blue Truck. Did you know Little Blue Truck was so helpful and went "beep" too? Yep he does.
Patt, in an effort to add variety to her reading went to the library, got some more books and Raleigh, walking past the shoe rack, realized he was not wearing his boots, corrected that oversight, and the reading continued.
